Brainware Sales Blow Away Industry Analyst Forecasts in Q1 2011

Following Record-Breaking 2010 Performance, Brainware Outpaces Market by 650% in First Quarter

May 2, 2011 Ashburn, VA —Brainware, Inc. announced today that the company’s sales results for the First Quarter of 2011 have outperformed analyst predictions for the market by 650%. The Worldwide Capture and Image Management software market, as reported by IDC, is expected to grow at a pace of 7.7% in 2011. In comparison, Brainware’s sales performance is up more than 50% versus the same period last year, and continues the company’s record-breaking growth from 2010, during which more than a dozen of the company’s new contracts were in excess of $1 million each, demonstrating the significant benefits that the company’s solutions can deliver to the world’s largest organizations.

New contracts already announced in 2011 include Cache Creek Casino, Frontier Communications, Clear Channel Communications, Hot Topic and P2 Energy Solutions, as well as a $4.1 million contract with a Major Energy Provider for mailroom automation, a Worldwide Religious Organization, a global Engineering, Construction and Project Management Company, and several Healthcare Providers. Additionally, Brainware had announced an enhanced relationship with Microsoft whereby the company is joining the ranks of Microsoft’s most elite partners.

“IDC continues to see the Capture and Image Management Software market outperform many enterprise software market segments,” said Melissa Webster, Program Vice President for Content & Digital Media Technologies at IDC. “The benefits of automating paper-based, document intensive business processes are well-known and include cost and error reduction, improved cycle times, better visibility, and reduced risk of regulatory and compliance missteps.” Webster added that “advanced data capture technology that automates the entire process of classifying, extracting, validating and posting data is under-adopted by large companies, and yet it is available. This is a problem that companies can address today.”

“We continue to accelerate the momentum of our business, as evidenced by the global companies who are selecting Brainware’s solutions,” said Carl Mergele, Chief Executive Officer at Brainware. “As companies recognize that they can measurably increase their operational agility by automating otherwise manual processes, they’re investing in technology to help them get there. We often hear from customers and prospects that they didn’t know some of this automation even existed, so we’re thrilled by our prospects for continued growth.”
