Brainware Brings New Automated Data Capture Insights to Fusion 2011

Charles Kaplan to Share Updated Findings on Technology's Adoption, Opportunities for Accounts Payable

May 4, 2011, Orlando, FL and Ashburn, VA —Brainware, Inc. the leading provider of intelligent data capture and enterprise search solutions, announced today that the company’s Vice President of Marketing, Charles Kaplan, will be presenting at Fusion 2011 new findings to supplement their groundbreaking Global Trends in Automated Data Capture in AP report, providing additional insight into the adoption rates, perceived benefits, observed benefits and opportunities that lie ahead for these technologies in accounts payable and other document-intensive areas. These insights include survey data from AP professionals around the globe, working in numerous industries and for organizations ranging from less than $500 million in annual revenues to well in excess of $10 billion in revenues.

“The demand for agile, scalable and easily implemented data capture applications such as Brainware Distiller™ continues to grow faster than ever,” said Kaplan, whose presentation will be taking place at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 9th. “Among other findings, more than a third of respondents claim it still takes them more than twelve days to process an invoice, inhibiting their ability to take early payment discounts, creating backlogs, and often necessitating increased headcount. Automated data capture solves those problems and many others.”

“We’re finding that despite revenues in the billions of dollars and the document volumes inherent to that scale of operation, many—possibly even most—companies have still not made the leap to automated data capture technology, a proven driver of efficiency and value in accounts payable,” said Mark Brousseau, Vice President of Research & Business Development at IAPP-IARP-TAWPI-NAPP. “With an increased focus on working capital management, the professionals we’ve spoken with emphasize a need for greater visibility into and reporting of invoice processing—a demonstrated strength of available data extraction technologies.”

In addition to this presentation, Brainware and Microsoft Corporation will be conducting a joint session, “The Changing Automation Landscape in Financial Operations,” at 9:45 AM on Thursday, May 12th. The two vendors will also be co-sponsoring a social event on the evening of Wednesday, May 11th, featuring performances by comedian Kevin Nealon and ’80s tribute band The Arch Allies.

Scheduled for May 8th-12th at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando-Kissimmee, Florida, Fusion 2011 is expected to draw more than 2,000 professionals focused on accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, payments and document automation. Fusion 2011 features 200-plus educational sessions across 18 learning tracks, an exhibit hall with more than 175 providers of financial operations products and services, renowned keynote speakers and top-tier networking and social events. Fusion 2011 is produced by International Accounts Payable Professionals (IAPP), International Accounts Receivable Professionals (IARP), National Association of Purchasing and Payables (NAPP) and The Association for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI).
