NEC Europe Chooses Brainware Distiller™ to Automate Accounts Payable

NEC to Leverage Intelligent Data Capture in European Shared Services

October 4, 2010, Ashburn, VA — Brainware, Inc., the leading provider of intelligent data capture and enterprise search solutions, announced today that NEC Europe has selected the company’s Brainware Distiller solution to process invoices at its shared service center in the United Kingdom. This contract includes the Brainware’s Visibility™ module for real-time KPIs, reporting and business intelligence.

A company-wide initiative to reduce operational costs directed NEC Europe to consider automation alternatives to the manual data entry costs associated with processing invoices into its SAP ERP system. Brainware Distiller proved to be the best solution.

“Brainware Distiller offered the most advanced data capture capabilities and the greatest opportunity for transforming our manual processes,” said John Dickens, UK Shared Service Centre Manager for NEC. “This solution will facilitate centralization of A/P invoice posting and our three-way match process. Furthermore, we are keen to look at opportunities for rolling out Distiller in Japan as well as expanding into our sales order process.”

Dickens added, “Distiller’s document-agnostic nature offers NEC opportunities to streamline and automate other business areas that will be migrated into our core SAP ERP system. As a comprehensive data extraction platform, Brainware’s solution dovetails with our ‘ONE NEC’ philosophy, which emphasizes smarter applications that promote the greatest possible experience for customers and vendors.”

“NEC required a solution that could accommodate the affiliate companies serving eight European countries,” said Carl Mergele, Chief Executive Officer at Brainware. “Distiller’s scalability makes it an immensely capable platform for consolidating and simplifying paper-based processes. By being able to process all types of documents in a broad range of languages, Distiller provides a singular answer to large businesses seeking to introduce efficiency throughout their operations.”
