Rabobank Group Implements Brainware Distiller™ for Mailroom Automation

Premier Global Bank Uses Intelligent Data Capture to Streamline Operations

September 27, 2010, Ashburn, VA — Brainware, Inc., the leading provider of intelligent data capture and enterprise search solutions, announced today that Rabobank Group has implemented Brainware Distiller for automation of its mailroom operations. Distiller will support Rabobank’s initiative to reduce its physical mail distribution by 85% within three years, and will provide a highly scalable technology platform that will act as an efficiency driver throughout the organization.

“Out of the numerous automation solutions we considered, Brainware Distiller stood out because it was not template or hardware driven,” said Bart Groenewoud, Product Manager ICT at Rabobank. “The Brainware technology lends itself to rapid integration and an immediate impact on processing efficiency, both of which are invaluable qualities for a department that processes thousands and thousands of pages each day.”

Rabobank is reporting gains in process efficiency within weeks of going live with Distiller’s advanced data extraction technology.

“The Brainware project team implemented Distiller within the Rabobank architecture in a matter of days,” said Groenewoud. “Prior to this initiative, we had a very time-consuming routine in place which included receiving, analyzing and sorting documents before manually entering the data into our system. Upon introducing Distiller into this environment, we’ve witnessed a remarkable decrease in processing time and the effort required to manage the mail.”

Groenewoud added that by digitizing incoming paper mail directly from the mailroom, Distiller will be instrumental in allowing Rabobank employees to access and manage this data from anywhere in the world.

“By processing both structured and unstructured documents at the point of receipt, Distiller offers Rabobank a wealth of efficiency across the enterprise,” said Carl Mergele, Chief Executive Officer at Brainware. “Efficiently managing paper-based information allows large businesses to access vital business intelligence in the least amount of time, streamlining operations and enabling world-class performance.”

Headquartered in the Netherlands, Rabobank Group offers retail banking, wholesale banking, asset management, leasing and real estate services.
