The Institute of Financial Operations Commends Brainware for Their Commitment to Financial Operations

Brainware Becomes First to CAPA-Certify Entire Sales Force

December 8, 2011, Ashburn, VA and Orlando, FL— This week, Brainware, Inc. became the first software vendor to achieve Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA) certification from the Institute of Financial Operations for its entire eligible staff of Business Analysts and Account Executives. In addition to binding designees to a professional Code of Ethics, certification assures a thorough knowledge of—and ability to successfully navigate—the challenges and demands of working in an accounts payable operation.

According to the Institute, hundreds of organizations recognize the value of certification, including Baylor Health Care System, Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Genentech, General Motors, Microsoft, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Quest Diagnostics, T-Mobile, Wal-Mart Stores, Yale University and others.

“As the only accounts payable certification program recognized by the United States government, CAPA provides financial directors with the peace of mind in knowing that their personnel understand the complexities and proven best practices associated with that responsibility,” said Thomas M. Bohn, President and CEO of the Institute of Financial Operations. “It is unprecedented for a software vendor to hold its own sales team to that same level of aptitude, and I believe this demonstrates Brainware’s leadership in partnering with the accounts payable community to achieve mutual success for enterprises worldwide.”

“Brainware strives to take a long-term view of customer service, not merely selling technology that enables stronger operational performance, but establishing a partnership that ensures sustainable success and opportunity in meeting and exceeding that customer’s needs,” said Carl E. Mergele, Chief Executive Officer at Brainware. “By qualifying our account representatives with a rigorous program that leaves no stone unturned in conveying the routines, challenges and unique perspectives of the accounts payable professional, Brainware intends to set a high bar in delivering solutions that translate to faster document processing, fewer errors, more early payment discounts, greater control and a significant boost to the organization’s bottom line—a true complement to established best practices.”
