In our latest webinar, "The *Magic* of Brainware Distiller: Automating Document-Intensive Business Processes" (now available to view on demand), we tried to get a sense of where our viewers stood in terms of adopting automation technology as a driver of value in their operation.
We asked listeners which barriers, real or perceived, were standing in the way of investing in technologies that automate document capture. The two most common responses were high cost (56%) and IT resource constraints (53%), with document complexity (35%) and the difficulty/expense of integration (32%) following.
When asked which document types would derive the greatest benefit from automation, the clear favorite (at 65%) was "invoices and other accounting documents." No other option received more than 15% ("contracts and legal documents"). Interestingly, only 5% of respondents chose "checks and remittances," despite the fact that remittances are often the most dense, detail-heavy transactional documents being processed!
54% of respondents reported that more than 10 people were keying data from documents in their operation. (By automating their document-intensive processes, these organizations stand to gain the most, in terms of reducing labor costs and creating opportunities for personnel to contribute to more substantial, less mind-numbing activities within the operation.)
While reduced costs were citied as the most significant perceived benefit of automating data capture (61%), faster processing (50%), better visibility/reporting (48%) and reduced error rates (32%) each registered significant support, as well.
To learn about how Brainware Distiller answers these questions and addresses these perceptions, including case studies that bear out our claims for its capabilities in real-world scenarios, view this webinar today!
